Barrie Willoughby is a former Director of Adelaide Finance Agency, one of South Australia’s oldest finance companies which he founded in 1984. He is also a former Director and founder of Readett Simmons & Associates a Mortgage Management business which he operated in Adelaide until it was sold in 2001 with approximately $30 million under management.
Barrie has had extensive experience in the financial services industry dating back to 1977 when he commenced his career as a financial planner with the AMP Society.
Peter holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Macquarie University, Graduate School of Management and has diverse experience in business management, capitial raisings and corporate restructuring. He brings over 30 years of corporate experience in various senior management roles. He also brings over 12 years experience in managing property investments around Australia.
Business Development Manager
Cathy has 27 years experience in banking, starting with State Bank (now BankSA) in 1988. Her successful retail banking career saw her promoted from Senior Customer Service Officer to Personal Banker until attaining the position of Senior Branch Manager where she managed hubs of multiple branches in the Adelaide metropolitan area.
These full financial service branches included Home Lenders, Commercial Lenders, Financial Planners, Insurance and Personal Banking Specialists. Cathys career in a structured corporate banking environment brings an elevated level of professionalism to the Eastwood Securities team.
Commercial Lending Manager
Damien has over 34 years experience in banking, commencing with the Savings Bank of South Australia in 1979, progressing through the State Bank era and then onto BankSA, eventually moving to BankWest in 2006. Having worked in both city and rural locations with BankSA, Damien has a great understanding of the differing needs of both Rural and Urban communities. During his time at BankSA and BankWest Damien managed commercial portfolios of $100 million plus, with over 200 varied business clients at any given point in time. Through this period, Damien also held various roles in commercial broking at BankSA and BankWest.
Between 2009 and 2014 Damien left the bank environment and took on the role of Managing Director of Adelaide Hospitality and Tourism School, a business in which he was a shareholder. This lead to investments in three hotels over a 10 year period, providing a sound understanding of commercial management and small business owner funding requirements.
In 2014 Damien returned to BankSA to take on the position of Senior Business Development Manager Commercial Broker looking after the entire BankSA commercial broker network with over 250 broker partnership clients throughout SA, hence, he fully understands the issues that finance brokers have to deal with and their requirements from lenders to meet the varied needs of all loan applicants.
This commercial experience, from both a corporate and small business environment, along with an intimate understanding of the finance broker network, provides a valuable addition to the overall experience of the team at Eastwood Securities.
Finance and Administration Manager
Sonja Smith has significant experience in senior management and finance roles, with her most recent being Financial Controller in the automotive sector over a period of eleven years, during which she contributed significantly to systems development as the business evolved. Sonja has also run her own financial services businesses, over an extended period of time, applying her knowledge and experience in businesses of all sizes. She holds proficiencies in multiple industries, across multiple disciplines which include human resources, accounting, finance, and quality management systems.
After living in Malaysia and travelling the world for a year, Sonja returned to Australia and is now a valued member of the team at Eastwood Securities.
